To begin, it’s best to keep everything really organized as you’re about to store them for most of the year. This is why it’s best to wash all of your clothes that you’ll be putting into your storage bags. Also, it’s absolutely vital that you dry that completely, before storing them. As your clothes come out of the dryer, it’s best to keep them super-organized by folding them right away. This will help cut down on wrinkles, making them come out of storage looking as good as new.

Next, slide your items in neatly, completely up until the fill line on the space bag. Don’t think about trying to sneak in anything extra, as the bag won’t close properly if you jam things in too tight.

Seal the vacuum storage bag by sliding the zipper back and forth several times, until the bag has a strong seal. Taking the black seal off of the hole cover for the vacuum, insert the hose-end of your vacuum into the hold cover. Turn on the vacuum, and suck enough air out, until the space saver bag has become quite flat.

Finally, take out the vacuum hose, and quickly replace the seal hole cover. This will reduce the amount of air that has a chance to get back in.

Most vacuum storage bags come in a set of two, sometimes four. The two-piece usually contains one large and extra large vacuum gusseted bag. If you go with the four-piece set, it usually comes with one small, two medium, one large and one extra-large bag. If you’re planning on moving, vacuum storage bags can be a life-saver. By investing a little bit of cash and effort, you can spend less time renting a truck, and more time piling in everything you’d like to be moved.
